Values
When I was a senior in high school, the thing I looked forward to the most wasn't graduating. It was moving out. It wasn't that I didn't have a great childhood or home, I did. It was about socks. This may come as a surprise, but let me tell you a bit more background first. I am the oldest of sixteen kids. Fifteen kids living in one house (the youngest was born after I moved out) is loud, fun, never dull, entertaining, and yes there was a lack of socks. I would wash my own clothes, pair my socks, keep them to myself, but no matter what I could not keep those darn socks to myself. I couldn't WAIT to have a pack of fresh socks and have them all to myself. To never have them get lost or have mismatches. You see, I valued matching socks. I valued them more then saving money, or getting my mom's delicious home cooked meals every day. What you choose, whether it be on a daily basis or be it a change like moving out is based partly on your values. What is important to you?
As a Massage Therapist and Business Owner, I also have values set there.
I value:
Customer Service- after all the hour is all about you, what you want, what you need
A Warm & Inviting Space
Listening- “We have two ears and one mouth so that we can listen twice as much as we speak.”-Epictetus (It's a goal.)
Integrity
Honesty- If I can't help you with something, or I feel you need another professional's opinion, I will refer you to them. I am working on getting a great referral base in Michigan, if you have a provider (Chiropractor, Primary Care, Acupuncture, Life Coach, ect.) let me know!
Education/Learning- I am learning through my client's all of the time. I also like to teach you about what it is I am doing so that you can understand your own body better.
I love being a massage therapist and helping people is my passion. My goal is for you to see and feel that. I am always trying to grow and learn to be more true to myself and my values. Not only that, but translate that into my company.
I want to know, what are your values? What do you value in a Massage Therapist? Is there something I can do better at to meet your needs?
