Stuck Emotions + Pain
This blog post could be 6 posts long, but I’m going to try and summarize the best I can.
In the beginning of my career, I swore I would never get into energy work. I didn’t understand it and the people around me feared it a lot. But, life is a journey, and it changes you. Over the past 10 years as a massage therapist, I have changed, grown and developed a lot. One thing I can’t ignore anymore is my intuitive gifts, helping people feel better by allowing emotions and energy to release and sharing my experiences of what I’m feeling with them.
Vivid Vision for Encompass
In 2021, I read a book called The Vivid Vision. It’s a fascinating book and the main idea is that you map out what your vision is for your business, life, etc. And then share it with everyone. This creates more energy around your dreams, making them more likely to come true!
That’s not the only reason I'm sharing this post, however. If you know me, you know that dreaming fires me up. I love chatting about it- so I'm going to share my dreams for Encompass with you!
Deep Dive: Knee Pain
Massage can help knee pain? Short answer: YES! Blog complete. Haha, no I’m kidding. If you’re anything like me, you need to know how it can help!
Deep Dive: Neck Pain
This is an interesting deep dive. And I think it’s because, in general, clients complain of shoulder pain or headaches, but not usually of neck pain itself. With that being said, the neck is also the area that I work the most to relieve you of your shoulder pain or headaches! The referrals of the trigger points in the neck just refer up into the head or down to the shoulders. To be honest, the neck is one of my favorite areas to work- especially the anterior neck, because therapists can be scared of this area. But it’s so important to release, and often the missing link!
Review of 2019 & Moving Forward
I’m having a really really good day over here and I am just relishing in it. You know those days that you get so many things checked off your check list and it’s only 11am? Yes, one of those days. I was just checking in with myself, like “hmm…maybe I should take a nap.” But, I’m not tired! Ahhh I love the second trimester. Instead, I sat down to write this blog…for the second time. I started it last week, and it was so good…and I didn’t save it. Gonezo. I was devastated, but I decided to put my computer down and the words would come to me another day in another way. Obviously that wasn’t the blog that was meant to get posted. Moving on.
From A-B
So you’ve had pain for months, a year, maybe many years. That sucks, right? Well, maybe you saw my blog post a couple weeks ago about trying Trigger Point Therapy, when you’ve tried everything else. I’m here today to talk about taking this a bit further. I want you to understand that if you have been having pain that you consider chronic, that means it’s been there for a long time. This also means that because it’s been there for awhile does not mean that your pain will go away after one session with me. Although that would be amazing, it’s just not realistic.
Low Back Pain + Massage
Have you ever had low back pain? If you answered yes, you know how debilitating it can be. And, you are not alone. Low back pain is the second most common cause of disability in US adults and a common reason for lost work days. What do you do to help that low back pain? Take some Tylenol or Ibuprofen? Wait it out and suffer through it, hoping it will go away on its own? MAYBE try a couple of stretches?
Hot Stones
I can’t believe how many days I’ve seen snow and it’s only October 15th! It made me go dig for my sweaters and cozy blankets. In my space, that also means the hot stones get heated up! Have you ever had hot stones as apart of a massage? If you haven’t, you have to try it! It feels so good on those cold days, especially in the middle of the winter when it can be even colder. If you are a little nervous about hot stones, you’re in the right place. I’m here to tell you what it’s all about.
Pre-Natal Care: Part 1
I have been thinking about this post for awhile. I had an amazing pregnancy, and I wanted to share some of the reasons why. I felt good for the first two as well, but I had some extra knowledge this time that I believe helped. My story begins last fall.
Customized Care
If you've ever checked out my website, you know that I have a lot of different services to choose from. For some of you, that might be over stimulating and you may wonder "How do I know which one to pick?!"
Combined Therapies
I recommend a few different things after you receive a massage including drinking water, stretching, icing at times. But that list is missing one big one for me. Chiropractic care. Chiropractic Care is one of the best therapies to combine with Massage Therapy. Over the years I have seen many many clients progress their healing much more quickly when they get both chiropractic and massage.
Come Back? When?
Today, I want to talk about rescheduling massages. This is meant to help you feel better about why I recommend you come back when I do.
Inspiration
Hey, Hey! It's been awhile! I lost my inspiration for a bit there. In my head, I have been blaming it on this pregnancy (Yes, I'm pregnant with #3!), but really it's been an internal battle.
One Year
Facebook reminded me this morning that I announced the opening of Encompass Therapeutic Massage one year ago!! A lot has happened since I opened up shop. I moved to the UP, opened up a location here, and also travel back to Minnesota to serve my amazing client's out there once a month.
