Come Back? When?

Hey there! I hope you're having a great day!

I Want What's Best for YOU.

Today, I want to talk about rescheduling massages. This is meant to help you feel better about why I recommend you come back when I do.

So, as a massage therapist, I want what is best for you. Often, that means that I want to have the common goal with you of having no more pain, in whatever meaning that is for you. Working together is great and I will get just as excited as you when we have a win. ie. less headaches or back pain.

Recommendations

After your first massage, I will often recommend you to get another massage at any point in time from 1 week to a month, depending on how you were doing that day. Keep in mind, I don't just recommend a date arbitrarily. I choose it based on how I think your body will respond and how tight you were. Some people, who have been in pain for a long time, may need to come in next week. Others, who may have come for relaxation, or if they released well could come in in a month. Also, this isn't one sided. I try to remember to ask what you think of coming back in the time I recommended. Remember, we are a team!

Another point to note is that if I recommend you come back next week, that doesn't mean I want you to come in once a week for the rest of your life. That means, come in next week, we'll see where you're at, and hopefully, you can schedule out to 2 or 3 weeks. Your care plan then continues from there as you continue to improve. My goal with each and every one of my clients in to get you to maintenance care, meaning you come in maybe once a month or once every two months to make sure everything is feeling great, or if it's not, get it on the right track.

Why Come Back?

Each time I recommend a time to come back, I am recommending that for your best interest. If you are experiencing headaches everyday, that is terrible. I want you to get to a point where you never have headaches and if you do, it is an annoyance, not an activity stopper. If you have been having headaches for months or years, they probably won't go away completely with one massage. So, I'll recommend you to come back until we can get you to a point where you don't get those headaches anymore. Getting you from point A to point B is a big goal, but if you come in only when you're in serious pain, we won't be able to get to point B. That's why coming in when I recommend it is important. And remember, my ultimate goal is that you can come is once a month or less!

I hope this makes sense! Let me know what you think,

Nikki
