Essential oils are compounds extracted from plants. The oils capture the plant's scent and flavor, also called its "essence." They have many healing properties. I love them for a few reasons, the top reasons being that they help with feeling positive and focused, I ditched all of my toxic chemical cleaners for non-toxic essential oil infused cleaners, and they help with many physical symptoms too.
